Additions Made to UO’s Official Terms of Service (TOS) as a result of PunkBuster:
Ultima Online TOS addition
Section 2.b.

Ultima Online uses PunkBuster technology to prevent players from using illegal cheat and helper programs. To play Ultima Online on most shards, you must agree to allow PunkBuster to run while playing Ultima Online. You cannot install and run Ultima Online without PunkBuster also being installed and running.

Timeline:
June 20, 2006 - Official Announcement (EvenBalance.com)

September 1, 2006 - As of yet, not implemented or even in public beta testing. Chances are, with the Mythic acquisition, and the huge changes coming, it was moved to the backburner (for now).

Some of the issues raised (and our take in bold):
- People worried about confidential work material somehow being exposed (which is not what PB does, and has never done) - Is it wise to be playing UO on your work computer? Would your clients/employers feel okay if they knew you were?
- False positives - It’s possible, it is made by a human, however, from what we’ve seen, it’s not simply the program saying “your banned” and tossing you. There is a protocol that is followed (see the FAQs/Concerns listed above at UO.com), to deal with this issue.

We will talk about this issue more when/if PB is offiicially activated.
