CatHat’s Thoughts on EA Mythic Head Mark Jacobs

CatHat’s thoughts about EA Mythic’s head honcho, Mark Jacobs, as posted in Stratics/UO Hall:

CatHat: Yeah - i like his attitude too - its the first thing i noticed about the guy - besides his east coast accent *winks (so says the CA guy)

He’s got a real powerful “No BS!” attitude - which is a core value i have in common with the guy and immedately liked about him (I breathed a sigh of relief after hearing him speak in person after the first 10 seconds.)

And he also shares my observation of the “1 our of 4″ thing i’m always saying to everybody here about new ideas that pop up in the industry.

“I call this my 25% rule — even if there are 28 games in development or 58 or 78, the one thing I can guarantee is that, at most, only 25% of them will reach the marketplace. The others will either be cancelled before they reach full development or they won’t work technically”

It’s true for individual game titles, as well as many features or proposals within games.

You have to be persistent and tough in this industry. He’s definately that, and has a certain amount of real wisdom, and the ability to roll with the punches.

He’s a solid guy.

Glad you all like him too.
