House Builder 13E Released

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

House Builder 13E has been released (UOForums.com). House Builder is an offline house utility, that utilizes the graphics from Ultima Online to allow you to build multi-story structures, so you can test out your various dream homes, before actually going in the game and building them. Keep in mind this is a completly offline tool - it has nothing to do with anything you do in-game, however it can save you valuable time (especially if you are on dial-up) as it can allow you to try out every house tile available to you (and then some). It allows you to do any size plot, up to 18×18, as well as all floors plus the roof.

What’s Updated:

- Went thru and redid the front end graphics, added all the UO graphics into the Toolbox.xml.
- New version works with the latest UO.
- Added the new Ice and Dark graphic’s in.
- Redid the whole Toolbox.xml itself. Everything is now in easy to find areas. (No more hunting thru different areas for Walls. They are now in one are.)

If you already have a previous version, according to Kurgan, all you need to do is download this and put the files into your other House Builder folder. Have them over right anything there.

UOAssist and Windows Compatability Modes

Friday, August 18th, 2006

According to the TugSoft UOAssist website, if you are running Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 2003 Server, you might want to be aware of the following:

* If you are running Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 2003 server and are getting the error “Corrupted Data or Unsupported OS” you probably have UOAssist.exe set to run in a ‘Compatibility’ mode which is causing the error. To turn that off do the following.

* If you have an UOAssist icon on your desktop right click on it and select Properties. Then click the Compatibility tab. At the top make sure the ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for:’ option is OFF.

* Or Using Windows Explorer navigate to your UOAssist directory (default is: C:\Program Files\UOAssist). Right click on the UOAssist.exe file (it will have the red UOA icon). Select Properties and then click the Compatibility tab. At the top make sure the ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for:’ option is OFF.

* NOTE: UOAssist has been updated to work even when it is running in a compatibility mode and a future update will contain that change.
