New Content introduced with latest Shard/Client Publish?

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

Along with tonight’s Client 5.0.4d patch and the shard publish, these two lines jumped out at us:

* Added live event content (Shard)
* Updated text strings and localization for Live Event (Client)

I went poking around the the new cliloc.enu (client version 5.0.4d) (located in the root directory of your UO installation) and rand a diff against a slightly older cliloc.enu - I’ll run a check against newer text/localization strings when I get a chance, but it matches up with what others are saying on other sites - that we have some very interesting things coming about.

These are very interesting - once again the Devs are “putting more “Ultima” back in “Ultima Online”" as some of the words mentioned/added relate to Ultima (non-UO) history.

Keep in mind this could be a spoiler, so you’ll have to click on the “Read the rest of this entry »” link below to read.

Ultima Online 9th Anniversary Collection Splash Screen

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

With the 5.0.4d client update tonight, a new splash screen was added for the Ultima Online 9th Anniversary Collection:

Ultima Online 9th Anniversary Eve of a New Age

This has me hoping that they will add a lot of Ultima-related stuff - a cloth map, metal ankh, etc.

Of note, it’s called “UO_9th_Age_OpeningSplash.bmp” (located in your UO directory under \models\maps\) - “Eve of a New Age” has been bandied about as the title, however the graphic itself says “9th Anniversary Collection” (which is what Amazon, etc., refer to it as ).

We’ve made two small wallpapers out of it - 1024×768 and 1280×960, located here.
